Gillian Hotchin is a Trauma Centre Trauma Sensitive Yoga Facilitator (TCTSY-F), Registered Yoga Teacher, Mindfulness Facilitator and DAPAANZ Registered Counsellor. She has over 10 years experience working in Mental Health and Addictions supporting individuals in their path of recovery.
TCTSY is a recognised evidence based intervention for complex trauma and PTSD. TCTSY is a scientifically-validated care model provided by trained facilitators. It is found to decrease PTSD symptoms equal to engaging with Cognitive Processing Therapies. TCTSY is unique, however, in that it employs interocepton—or awareness of internal physical cues—to guide individuals toward restoring a felt sense of safety in their relationship to their body and to others.

TCTSY through ACC
Gillian runs groups and 1:1 individual TCTSY sessions. Gillian has been running TCTSY groups since February 2024 through ACC’s ISSC contract. These groups will resume for 2025 once approved through the new SCS contract.
If you are active in SCS support, either as the Lead Provider or the Kiritaki, please feel free to add TCTSY to an individualised recovery plan and we can let you know once dates are confirmed. Alternatively, if this interest is in 1:1 TCTSY sessions, please add individual TCTSY to the plan and reach out to discuss. It is recommended to request between 6-12 hours for individual TCTSY sessions, with a wide date range for flexibility of sessions.
Participant Feedback
This amazing group exceeded my expectations. I was able to be present in my body for the first time in years. And felt empowered knowing that I had choices around my body, when to push myself or when to rest. I felt so relaxed afterwards, all I wanted to do was sleep. I felt my hyper vigilance melt away being in such a safe environment. During the week, I felt more connected to my body and what it needed and also used some of the stretches and breathing techniques help ground me. After the final session, I actually went for a short walk by myself along the tree lined pathway next to the Yoga Studio. It is the first time I have had the confidence to go for a walk by myself in approximately two years. It felt incredibly freeing! Thank you for the beautiful healing work you do. It really is life-changing.
