Rotorua: Body Awareness Yoga (BAY)

Erica Chadwick (PhD, Clinical Psychologist) facilitates the client-support and access to the Rotorua BAY group classes. Hollie Beau (Yogi) instructs our Rotorua BAY group classes. Hollie and Erica have run the ACC funded Rotorua BAY groups since 2019. BAY is invitational, involves no holds or assists and is personally adaptable to become your Yoga practice. BAY is designed to support:

  • gently moving from body disconnection to connection (increasing proprioception & interoception)

  • attuning to body needs and choices

  • accessing abilities for self regulation

  • improving sleep quality

  • creating a sense of common humanity

Papamoa: Trauma Sensitive Yoga (TSY)

Gillian Hotchin (Trauma Center Trauma Sensitive YogaFacilitator, Registered Yoga Teacher, MindfulnessFacilitator and DAPAANZ Registered Counsellor) and Rianda Gunter (trauma counsellor, Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy graduate, EMDR trained, Masters Narrative Therapy) are the facilitators. TSY is invitational, involves no holds or assists and is personally adaptable to become your Yoga practice. TSY is designed to support:

  • increased body and breath awareness

  • empowerment and connection to your body and actions

  • sense of connection to others

  • present moment awareness

  • increased distress tolerance

  • increased sense of safety in own body
